Budding catwalk stars from Bradford are being offered the chance to rub shoulders with supermodels in a charity fashion show.

Organisers of the event for the Bradford Millennium Scanner Appeal are looking for unknown faces who would like a taste of the big time for the show, wearing the latest outfits by top designer Roland Klein.

Mr Klein, who has dressed celebrities including Princess Diana, will bring his spring and summer 1999 collection from the international catwalks for a show at Bradford Boys' Grammar School in October which it is hoped will raise thousands of pounds for the £1 million appeal.

Linda Pollard, chairman of Bradford Hospitals NHS Trust who invited him to showcase his collection, said: "If you have ever wanted to try your hand at being a supermodel then this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity - especially as Roland has only ever done one major show in the country outside London," she said.

"It does not matter who you are, where you live, or what you do for a living - this is your chance to stroll the catwalk alongside well-known models, wearing a creation from one of the fashion world's top designers."

Mr Klein, who has previously worked with supermodels such as Yasmin Le Bon, worked in the leading couture houses of Dior and Patou before becoming personal assistant to Karl Lagerfeld and then establishing his own label. "It won't just be a fashion show because as well as that we will try to bring some celebrities and there will be lots of other activities," he said.

Would-be models, including hospital staff who are also being invited to take to the catwalk, can attend auditions on Friday.
