WHARFEDALE FA Secretary Reg Allwood and retiring Vice-President Ken Rhodes were both made Life Members of the Association at its annual meeting in Yeadon Liberal Club.

Both have served 21 years on the Association's Executive Council.

Ken has given financial support to the Association along with his son Michael through their firm Rhodes' Coaches of Yeadon. They have sponsored both cup competitions over the past 12 years but have now had to reluctantly withdraw their sponsorship.

The Association has a new cup sponsor in Airedale International Air Conditioning of Rawdon.

They will sponsor the Wharfedale FA Challenge Cup and Wharfedale FA Sunday Challenge Cup.

Over the years the Wharfedale FA has relied on sponsorship to help with the cost of providing mementos to the cup finalists.

Ken Rhodes has been replaced as Vice-President by Alan Wallace of Horsforth - the Association's Referess' Instructor. He has served on the Executive for the past ten years.

Roy Hammond of Shipley Town was elected as a new club representative on the Full Executive Council to replace Fred Watson of Guiseley Dynamo who has been made a Vice-President of the Association.

Fred has served on the Executive for the past eight years.

Otley Town and Rawdon Old Boys were thanked for providing their grounds for cup semi-finals and Guiseley AFC were thanked for staging the two cup finals. Thanks were given to Guiseley Director Norman Jukes who worked tirelessly throughout the day to make the pitch playable for the Sunday Cup Final following many days of bad weather.

All refereees were thanked for their help and the referees who had gained promotion to a higher grade were congratulated as were the local press for their help in publicising the Association's work and matches.

Yeadon Liberal Club were thanked for allowing the use of their facilities for meetings and for the referees' course.
