The 1998 survey provides a complete picture of all the district's major employers. In previous years the survey has been limited to companies with a decision-making body or head office in the area shown on the map. This year, to reflect the growing international ownership of many Bradford firms, the Top 50 is based on turnover and not limited to local connections.Financial information for companies listed on the Stock Exchange has been obtained from the latest published accounts. The Top 50 and other tables were compiled by the T&A and Grant Thornton. Companies not listed on the Stock Exchange were selected in order of turnover from a database supplied by Lotus One Source and questionnaires were issued to all companies.
