With the weather relenting a little play got underway in a number of matches last weekend, although the programme was still depleted due to a number of clubs being involved in West Riding County Cup matches.

Silsden had a resounding success over Greetland, but Oxenhope went down 2-0 at home to Golcar United. In the Challenge Trophy Haworth reached double figures against Farnley Reserves and Sutton recorded a 4-3 victory over Crag Road United Reserves.

In the Premier Division only three matches survived, but all involved top teams. Second placed Cross Hills travelled to Cowling and won 4-0 despite missing a string of early chances.

Their first was an own goal from a corner and Cowling wasted a chance to equalise from the penalty spot. Hills also missed a penalty, but Robert Kaminski chipped the keeper and further goals from Nicholas Shaw and Adam Whiteoak sealed victory.

Keighley FC moved into third place, level on points with the leading teams, after a 1-0 victory over Rimington. The visitors Rattled keighley when they scored in the first minute, but Joynal Ali scored the equaliser after 20 minutes. Keighley went ahead following a good move by Liam Rowley just before the break.

Rimington battled hard, but the Hills defence held firm and a great exhibition of individual skill from Steven Kernen brought the third goal as Keighley made certain of the points.

Oxenhope Recreation travelled to Grindleton in Division One and struggled to create chances on a very heavy pitch. The home side led 1-0 at the break but Oxenhope equalised though Steven Buckley.

Grindleton regained the lead, but a battling performance from Oxenhope earned them a draw with a late goal.

Top played bottom in Division Two where Cowling Reserves visited leaders Barnoldswick United and suffered another defeat, going down 4-2. Cowling tried hard but luck was against them as they were 2-0 down after 30 minutes. United added a third after the re-start and it looked like they were going to run up a big score until Martin Rishton slotted the ball through to Matthew Burke who made no mistake. Barnoldswick slammed the door with a fourth goal. With nothing to lose Cowling pushed forward and Matin Rishton reduced the arrears. They could have had another and a confident penalty appeal was turned down, but luck is running against them at the moment.

Silsden moved into the top four with a narrow 1-0 victory at Horton. There was little between the two teams until Adam Hook broke the deadlock which was enough to give Silsden two points. The Silsden defence was well led by Adam Ackroyd.

Bronte Wanderers ended the unbeaten run of Skipton Bulldogs Reserves. Tim Walsh pulled off a superb save to prevent Bulldogs taking the lead and gave his side confidence to take a 2-0 lead with goals from Niall Walls and Lee Bilborough.

Walls added another before half time and the second half started with Bulldogs reducing the arrears, but Bronte quickly recovered with Tim Frear making it four and Bilborough adding a fifth. Walls completed his hat-trick before Dogs scored again. Finally James Ley completed the rout with a seventh goal. With more clinical finishing Bulldogs could have seen their undefeated tag disappear beneath even more goals.

Keighley FC Reserves continue their good form with victory over Embsay Reserves. After a goalless first half Keighley got on top and only the Embsay keeper denied them a goal until Mohammed Sulliman made the breakthrough. Once in front Keighley never let go, they were the fitter side and they piled in three more goals from Lee Isherwood (2) and Sultan Latte to conclude a good day.
