A city-centre designer clothes shop has had thousands of pounds of goods stolen in a ram raid.

The thieves used a stolen car to smash into the shop's door.

Then they made off with more than 200 items of clothing, including jeans, T-shirts, shirts and jumpers from V2, in North Parade, Bradford.

Manager Zulf Ikar Ali appealed for anyone with information to get in touch with the police. He said he was also considering putting up a reward.

Clothes stolen included Dolce & Gabbana, Hugo Boss, Gaultier, Versace, Valentino, Reiss, Firetrap, Sonneti and French Connection.

Mr Ali said it was the second time the shop had been ransacked by thieves.

He said: "Two months ago we had a lot of clothes stolen. Fortunately we have got stock from our other branches and we are open as usual.

"But it came as a shock. They took clothes from both floors. It's hard to put a value on what's gone because we are still stocktaking, but it certainly runs into thousands."

The silver J-registered Vauxhall Nova used in the raid was left dumped. The thieves switched to another car to escape.

Detectives were last night studying CCTV footage in their hunt for the thieves.

Detective Sgt Colin Stansby said: "We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and contact us at Bradford Central police station.

"There is every chance the clothes are now being sold in pubs or on market stalls. If anyone is offered cheap designer gear, we would like them to contact us.

"At the moment we are not linking this with the one earlier in the year at the same shop."
