Three teenage girls are on track for a chart-topping record deal.

Known as Deja Vu, the girls have spent the last few months writing songs. Now they want to follow in the footsteps of all-girl bands All Saints, B*witched and Eternal by clinching a deal with a big record company.

Sisters Adele and Charlotte Pearson met Leah Jones in March last year when they joined the Stage 84 drama school in Bradford. All three have appeared in Stage 84 shows. Leah has a contract with industrial company Procter and Gamble and has recorded an advert for Flash kitchen cleaner currently being shown on Irish television.

But now they just want to be pop singers. "It's something we like doing and we all want to do," says Leah.

Charlotte says: "It would be nice to follow in the footsteps of the some of the world's top female groups." And Adele adds: "If we get the chance we would really like to go for it."

Working in their bedrooms at home and using keyboards and recording equipment they have put together ten songs with names like Popworld and Be True.

Sound engineer Simon, from Rebound Studios in Bradford, says the girls sent him three songs. "I liked one of them but it does need a little work," he says. "Their talent will mature. We hope to be putting a demo tape together shortly for distribution."

Adele, 16, is training to be a dental nurse. Charlotte, 14, attends South Craven School. Both live at Exley Head, Keighley. Leah lives in Shipley, and attends Hanson School in Bradford.

The three now need to raise £500 to put together the demo tape. They have received a grant of £250 from the Prince's Trust and are looking for funding from other sources. Anyone willing to help should contact KN reporter Gary Stokes on 01535 606611.
