Bradford City believe in catching their supporters young.

For the first time they are offering season tickets to under-6s as chairman Geoffrey Richmond adds a new dimension to his 'children friendly' policy.

One of the first decisions Richmond made when he took over as chairman five years ago was to offer children free admission to Valley Parade for the final three months of the 1993-94 season.

This policy of encouraging children to watch City matches has continued ever since.

This season's Quid-a-Kid scheme has been hugely successful and the new season ticket packages reflect the club's thinking.

For the first time, City have split children's prices into three categories - under-6s, under-11s and under-16s.

Match day prices in the new Kop stand range from as little as £3 to £5 for the under-6s, £4 to £6 for under-11s and £5 to £7 for under-16s.

In the family sections in the Ciba stand on Midland Road and the Sunwin Stand the price for an adult and two children is as little as £20.

Richmond said: "We have worked hard in keeping our flagship policy intact by offering children special prices.

"Children are the whole foundation of the future and, with thousands of young supporters we wish to keep them and keep football affordable for them.

"For instance, a season ticket in block A of the new Kop stand can cost as little as £23 while under-11s will pay £33 and under-16s £43."

The season tickets will go on sale next Monday and are priced in three stages.

Tickets bought before March 6 give six free matches, between March 15 and April 24 five free matches and after April 25 four free matches.

City's 8,500 season ticket holders will receive notice of the new prices at the end of the week. Season ticket brochures will be available at the ticket office at the same time.

The new Kop will feature a Bantams bar along the full length of the stand accommodating up to 600 members.

Supporters applying for membership will be allocated executive style seats in the Bantams Bar enclosure at the back of blocks C and D.

The bar will be decorated with memorabilia, equipped with TV minors and will offer a bar snack menu. Membership is from £340, including a season ticket.
