Haworth RESERVES have pulled out of the league due to a shortage of players the second club to pull out of Division One this season.

The decision to disband the team will mean that all points involving the club will have to removed from the League table.

Oxenhope maintain their lead in the premier Division, opening up a two point lead over Embsay after their 3-0 victory over Keighley. James Bailey headed a perfect corner into the net for the first goal, Steve Buckley added the second and Paul Sewell had the match sewn up before the break.

Silsden and Embsay were both unbeaten at the start of the day, but it was the Cobbydale side who went home happy with a 1-0 victory. Embsay saw their best chance of the game stick in the mud on the line and with time running out Andy Holden made no mistake with a penalty.

In the last eight minutes Silsden piled the pressure on Embsay's defence. Holden hit the crossbar from 20 yards and Martin Bland blasted wide from eight yards out. Adam Ackroyd and Gary Lund against played well and Silsden goalkeeper Ryan Moore kept another clean sheet to keep them on course for the title with games in hand on the leaders.

This weekend Silsden are at home in their derby match with Addingham.

Haworth travelled to Rimington looking for points to pull away from the relegation zone. Neil Barnes put them ahead, but mistakes in defence gifted two goals to the Ribble Valley team. Michael Thompson put Haworth back on level terms at the break.

Michael Thompson restored Haworth's lead, Rimington equalised, and both sides went all out for victory, but Haworth were denied by the thickness of the post.

Cowling are still looking for their first win and were soon a goal down against Colne Cricket club. The Lancashire side were 2-0 up by half time, Chris Anderson pulled one back for Cowling, but they could not sneak a share of the points.

Cross Hills dominated their clash with Addingham as Damien Whiteoak and Paul Schofield caused havoc. The opening goal came from a penalty which Schofield converted. Andrew Little crashed home the second and although Addingham fought their way back into the game their consolation goal came too late to make any difference to the result.

In Division Two Sutton visited promotion hopefuls Bronte Wanderers and both teams showed why they are at the head of the division. End to end football on a very heavy pitch saw some excellent play.

Defences were well on top in a goalless first half and it looked as though nothing would give until Steve Holden was upended in the box on the 65th minute. Skipper Steve Reape stepped up and opened Sutton's account from the spot.

Bronte had a player sent off, giving Sutton the edge and they took advantage with a crucial second through roger Miller. the two points also put one hand on the trophy for the South Craven side.

Cowling Reserves enjoyed a welcome victory when they entertained Skipton LMS Reserves. Within five minutes of the kick-off Craig Broughton had opened Cowling's account, latching onto a mistake by the LMS keeper. Within the next few minutes a through ball from Martin Rishton saw Broughton make it 2-0.

LMS were not to be outdone and rallied their troops to score almost from the re-start and were back on level terms by the break.

Cowling regained their lead after the interval when the ball stuck in the mud and Martin Rishton was on hand to force it home. The South Craven side always looked in command and dealt with the LMS attacks with some good defending and easily held on to both points.

Keighley Reserves defeated Addingham 2-0.
