Rock rovers 2, Cross Hills 4

CROSS HILLS were given a real fright before clinching victory int he President's Cup.

The South Craven side struck first, but the goal took 20 minutes to arrive. Bell was on hand to fire home from Lee's corner. The power of the Cross Hills side in the air brought the second from Tosney who gave the keeper no chance with a bullet header.

They found it tough to play attractive flowing football and Rock captialised with a 'Route One' clearance which caught the Hills defence napping allowing the home side to pull one back.

Hills continued to try and play through the mud despite their half time team talk, but the tireless duo of Lee and Gray eventually combined with Lee finishing from three yards.

Rocks' never-say-die attitude saw them make it 3-2 and test the nerve of Hills.

The victory was sealed by Lee who claimed his brace, taking the ball down from Rosser's cross and after two touches powered the ball home from 15 yards to put Hills into the next round.
