Qualified management and personnel expert Helen Simms has joined the business team at Keighley College.

Her brief is to deliver the best in customised business training to local public, private and voluntary sector organisations.

Helen has extensive experience in the training and development of personnel, having worked in management and consultancy roles in the public and private sector, both in the UK and abroad.

Her most recent consultancy work involved advising a company in Milwaukee, USA, where she lived and worked for 12 months.

Helen's new role will include responsibility for delivering management training to local organisations, as well as teaching on a broad range of the college's popular business and professional development programmes like the Access to Management (ATOM) programme which begins this month.

She says: "Many people are not aware that the college already provides management training to a wide variety of local organisations, both at the college and in their place of work.

"I am looking forward to extending this work with new and existing customers, to develop customised training packages that really meet the needs of their organisation. This could involve anything from a one-day short course on staff motivation to the delivery of a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) to suit the needs of their particular business."

Helen hopes to visit as many local organisations as possible in the near future to discuss their management and business training needs and how the college can help.
