A Keighley boiler-maker is going full steam ahead at home and abroad.

The company, based in Parkwood Street, is all set to export to China after signing up a new business agreement.

A delegation from China has visited Byworth Boilers to grant it a licence to trade in their country.

The delegation visited the company as part of the procedure for granting a safety quality licence to the firm which will help it increase exports to the Far East.

Byworth director Barry Smith said today: "This is an extremely important development in the company's continuing expansion in the Far East market.

"Having gained a number of significant orders from this region in the past, we are now looking forward to further increasing our involvement in China. The safety quality licence will greatly assist us towards achieving our objectives in what we consider to be a major developing market."

The firm is also doing well on the home market and has just installed a 'Yorkshireman' steam boiler at the Northallerton factory of convenience foods producer Dalepak Foods Ltd - a major supplier to the UK's supermarkets.

Dalepak's factory produces a wide range of convenience foods including burgers, beef steaks and sausages and recently required its aged boiler to be replaced.

Byworth Boilers won the contract to supply and install the boiler in a purpose-built boilerhouse along with ancillary equipment.

Pipework between the boilerhouse and factory was carried out by the group's sister company Byworth Installation Services.

The project took 12 weeks to complete from receiving the order and the work was carried out with help from Dalepak's engineering department.
