Born-Again Christian comics Cannon & Ball will be at Keighley's Victoria Hall for their Rock Around the Church UK tour next month.

They're guests of the Airedale Church, which has been meeting in Churchill House, Keighley, since its original base was lost in November 1995's Netto supermarket fire.

Senior elder George Jarvis said the group invited the comic duo to perform after hearing of their successful appearance at the Abundant Life Church in Bradford last year.

"There they performed their usual comedy act but also talked about how their lives had changed." he said.

"We felt that their appearance in Keighley would be good for the church and good for the town.

"We are sponsoring the event but it isn't just for us, we are not keeping them to ourselves. Other churches are invited along and anyone else who wants to have a great evening."

Tickets are £8.50 and it's hoped to fill all the 550 seats at Victoria Hall on Friday March 26, he added.

They are available from the church in Churchill House, North Street, until February 25 and then from Keighley Information centre.

The Airedale Church, which has about 80 adult members, has been meeting in Churchill House for the past three years.

Members this week signed a deal to buy half of the building to convert into a church and offices.
