Bradford City are heading for their first sell out of the season with this weekend's crunch clash with promotion rivals Ipswich Town.

The Suffolk side are just two points behind second-placed Bantams as both sides go into a match that could have a major say into who clinches automatic promotion to the Premiership.

Chairman Geoffrey Richmond has revealed that only 2,000 tickets were still available at close of business yesterday and predicts these will be sold out by Saturday morning.

He said: "The game is not only an attractive one, but also a very important game for both sides and one that a lot of people clearly want to see."

With the current building work taking place on the Kop, Valley Parade's capacity has been cut to 15,160.

The biggest crowd of the season so far has been the 15,887 who saw City's 2-1 victory over Barnsley in September.

Richmond says that when the ticket office closed yesterday, 800 tickets remained for the Ciba Stand and another 500 in the Sunwin Stand.

The Kop also had 700 places remaining and all fans who want to see the game are urged to buy their tickets as early as possible.

Meanwhile, City goalkeeper Gary Walsh has pledged to ignore any abuse he receives on Saturday from Ipswich fans. Walsh was booed when the Bantams visited Portman Road in September over an incident at the end of the previous season's match at Ipswich.

A home fan alleged that Walsh kicked the ball into the home end after the game and it hit her in the face.

It is feared that the City goalkeeper may come in for some abuse from the travelling fans.

Walsh said: "We were a goal up but then when the winner went in, I just blasted the ball out of the net and it unfortunately hit someone behind the goal. It was an accident. I won't let anything interrupt my concentration on Saturday."
