Rugby Union: In a season that has been surprisingly clear-cut for local teams, the major issue on the last day of the league season tomorrow is whether Baildon will be promoted.

They are at Thwaites Yorkshire Division Three leaders York RI (28 points) and know that nothing less than a victory will do.

And even that might not be enough for third-placed Baildon (25 points) if second-placed Heath (26 points) win at fourth-placed Leeds Corinthians (18 points).

Baildon have already beaten York RI this season 26-5 at Jenny Lane on November 21, but Baildon coach Malcolm Lightowler says: "I am sure they will have their strongest team available this time, but only a win will do for us - a draw is no good."

Baildon are without the unavailable Steve Burgess, so Martin Ash-ton comes in at prop.

With a final match at Morpeth, who robbed them of their unbeaten home record this season, Bradford and Bingley must be glad they wrapped up the North Division Two championship five weeks ago.

Keighley had expected to be safe in North East Division One, but - because of Old Brodleians' appeal against the league's ruling on their void abandoned match against Beverley - they could still need a win tomorrow at home to Beverley to assure themselves of staying up.

Michael Feather, Mark Lister and Tim Dodkin come into a revamped back row, and prop John Duffy also returns to the pack.

Wharfedale have scrum-half Daniel Harrison and prop Neil Dickinson back for their last Jewson National League One match at home to Manchester. Winger Sean Gilbert also returns. Otley are without Phil Griffin at Newbury, and bring in experienced flanker Neil Hargreaves.
