Bradford Bulls prop Paul Anderson will sit out the next two matches after being sent off in a highly charged ending to Monday's derby at Castleford.

The 19st forward was dismissed during the 18-18 Super League draw with his hometown club after flattening Tigers' forward Lee Harland who was later accused of feigning injury by Bulls coach Matthew Elliott.

But the disciplinary committee, sitting at the RFL's Red Hall headquarters last night, found him guilty of reckless use of the forearm and also handed out a £250 fine.

It means Anderson will miss Sunday's visit of struggling Salford to Odsal and the difficult trip to Gateshead Thunder the following week.

Better news is that backs Scott Naylor and Nick Zisti are both expected to have recovered from injury in time to vie for the three-quarter spot left vacant following the injury to Danny Peacock at Wheldon Road.

Naylor (rib) has missed the last two games while Zisti hasn't figured since the win over Wakefield on April 11 due to loss of form and more recently a knee complaint.

Meanwhile Peacock's arthroscope to determine the extent of his injury was delayed yesterday and will now take place today. An announcement is expected on his future in the next few days.

The Bulls Alliance side are in action against Salford at Odsal tonight (7.30).

Halifax's Martin Moana returned for his first full game after a fractured arm to break the hearts of London Broncos for a second time in five days.

The beaten Wembley finalists had fought back magnificently from an early 12-0 deficit to go 24-16 in front with 12 minutes to go, but conceded two tries in three minutes to go down 26-24 - their sixth straight defeat.

Loose forward Moana grabbed his second try on 71 minutes to give the below-par Blue Sox a glimmer of hope and then carved out an opening for Paul Broadbent to score his first try for the club to earn Halifax a fortunate victory.

But Broncos coach Dan Stains still praised his men saying: "After Wembley, every individual had to work and there was an awful lot of pride in that performance. Our season is not just about Wembley.

"We have got a tough, competitive lot of people. Every game we have to play with four or five forwards and Retchless and Millard are having to play 80 minutes up front, they are the heart and soul of the team."

Stains also had special praise for former St Helens stand-off Karle Hammond, who defied a shoulder injury to lead the Broncos from the front.

Relieved Blue Sox coach John Pendlebury said: "Martin Moana is one of our game-breakers and we obviously miss a player of his quality. We're an honest team and we rely on one or two individuals to provide us with a spark."
