With his considerable array of silky skills, the Italian is an integral part of the Hammers' attacking game and City will have to be on top form to keep him quiet.

Made infamous when he pushed referee Paul Alcock to the ground last season, Di Canio has gone on to prove himself a firm favourite with the West Ham faithful. The Hammers are a very attacking outfit with Di Canio playing just behind Paolo Wanchope and this has certainly proved productive in the opening weeks of the season with a large number of the club's goals stemming from the Italian.

Di Canio's awareness and close control make him one of the most exciting footballers in the Premiership and his exit to Upton Park last season has turned out to be a bitter loss for Sheffield Wednesday who look to be in for a long season without him.
