There will be an air of sadness hanging over Denholme this weekend with the final closure of St Paul's Anglican Church, affectionately known as the Minster on the Hill.
As those involved look to the future, it is worth taking a moment to remember the church's contribution over the years to the well being of the village.
On balance, sadness will be overcome with joy.
