Anglers have netted £1,000 for Manorlands. Members of Cullingworth angling club landed the cash haul with a sponsored session at Ellar Carr dam. The event was staged in memory of founder club member Lindsay Hawksworth, who died last December aged 46 from a form of cancer.
Club member Anne Powell says: "Lindsay helped establish the organisation about 30 years ago and he was an extremely popular member. His wife has received a lot of support from Manorlands and we wanted to do something as a tribute.
"We were delighted with the response to the sponsored fish - we even got sponsors from Ireland - and we are hoping it may now become an annual event."
Fifteen people took part in the session, and a memorial trophy for the most weight caught on the day was won by Mark Serrant.
A cheque has been presented to Manorlands, the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
