Customer care is top of the agenda for the new managing director of transport company First Bradford.

Andy Campbell, pictured, has taken over the top post after 30 years service in the industry.

He has vowed to focus on benefits to customers and is already planning further expansion of the bus company's Sovereign Services which provide more comfortable buses for passengers.

Mr Campbell has also pledged to win the Investors in People Award to show people the firm means business. Attaining the award involves bosses and staff taking a look together at how the company should be run.

He said: "We are continually striving to achieve the highest standards in customer service. Satisfied employees means satisfied customers and we will continue to invest in our greatest asset - our people.

"In addition, I hope to be working closely with local businesses and with the community to ensure we always provide a high quality service to all our customers."

Mr Campbell started his career as an apprentice at Leeds City Transport and became engineering director at FirstGroup firms Leeds and Mainline.

First Bradford is part of FirstGroup plc which runs 210 double and single-deck buses and 23 minibuses. The firm, which serves 60,000 customers a week, employs 520 staff - mainly drivers.
