Bradford League: A second successive defeat for leaders Hanging Heaton has thrown the Division One title race wide open.

With just three games to go they lead Baildon by just three points and they are showing signs of losing a championship which looked all theirs bar the shouting when they opened a 15 point gap just two weeks ago.

Hanging Heaton never recovered from a mid-innings collapse as they struggled to make 162 for nine despite a solid half-century from opener Steve Bartle, and Farsley cruised home with 6.2 overs to spare.

Baildon, who suffered the anguish of losing last year's title race on the last day of the season, must fancy their chances of snatching the crown from Hanging Heaton's grasp after beating Cleckheaton by seven wickets.

They weathered an early onslaught from Division One's top run scorer Chris Pickles as he made an unbeaten 120 out of his side's 206 for seven, and eased home with 13 balls to spare thanks to a second ton of the season from opener Simon Davies.

Just like Pickles he hit one six and 16 fours but Davis had the benefit of strong support from first Paul Spragg (33) and then Richard Robinson (46no) as Baildon timed their run chase to perfection.

Pickles was one of two former Yorkshire batsmen to make centuries on Saturday. Pudsey St Lawrence skipper Ashley Metcalfe made an impressive 101 with a six and 18 fours as his side climbed back into fourth place with an eight wicket win over relegation threatened Yorkshire Bank. Gareth Clough (55no) shared a second wicket stand of 129 with Metcalfe as they sped their side towards victory after dismissing Yorkshire Bank for 188.

East Bierley's veteran all-rounder Murphy Walwyn was the day's third centurion in the top flight with an unbeaten 101 in his side's winning draw against Undercliffe, who remain in danger of relegation. Walwyn's knock was typically explosive and contained six sixes and seven fours.

Yorkshire off spinner James Middlebrook produced the best all-round performance of the day to inspire Pudsey Congs to a six wicket victory over Brighouse, who remain locked in the relegation zone.

Middlebrook took seven for 53 as Brighouse were restricted to 161 for nine and then made an unbeaten 70 as Congs won with 14.2 overs remaining.

Bottom team Bankfoot kept alive their hopes of a late escape from an immediate return to Division Two with a thrilling four wicket win over Windhill.

Gurdav Singh took five for 63 as Windhill faltered after a fine third wicket partnership of 105 between Darren Blenkiron (80) and Mark Gill (50), and then came to Bankfoot's rescue when they in turn slumped to 93 for five in response to a total of 200 for nine.

While Peel hit out boldly and smashed three sixes and 11 fours in an unbeaten 86, Singh made a priceless 27 .

Lidget Green confirmed their promotion to Division One with a winning draw over Great Horton. Hassan Adnan hitting a sparkling 139 which enabled him to become the fourth player this season to pass the 1,000 run mark.

Adnan shared an opening stand of 116 with Wasim Munawar (57) as Lidget Green posted a total of 251 for six. Great Horton played out for a draw at 141 for eight in reply.

Lightcliffe's hopes of clinching the third promotion place suffered a setback when they lost by two wickets to champions Yeadon in a high-scoring encounter.

Drighlington are just a point behind Lightcliffe after edging home by one wicket against Hartshead Moor which owe much to a determined 61 from opener Phil Carter.
