Bradford City striker Dean Saunders was one of the heroes as Wales scored a battling 2-1 win over Belarus in their Euro 2000 qualifier in Minsk.
Saunders, playing his 70th international, netted his side's 42nd minute equaliser in their first match under the command of Mark Hughes. Ryan Giggs hit the winner four minutes from time.
Afterwards Saunders praised boss Hughes for the way he lifted the team.
He said: "Mark's team talk was impressive. He just said that some people are winners, and some are losers. So let's go out and prove that we are winners."
