New signing Bruno Rodriguez is free to play for Bradford City against Tottenham tomorrow after receiving international clearance.

The French striker joined City on loan until the end of the season from Paris St Germain on Thursday but the Bantams were left sweating over whether the clearance would arrive by the deadline of 5pm yesterday.

It duly arrived two hours ahead of that cut-off time and it means Rodriguez is now available for selection in tomorrow's game which will be televised live around the globe to around 300 million people.

Chairman Geoffrey Richmond said: "We were slightly worried because 4pm over here is 5pm in France and if it hadn't arrived by then the chances were it would not have gone through in time. Now Bruno is available for the squad for tomorrow's game."

City have paid PSG £500,000 for Rodriguez's loan deal with an agreement to pay a further £2.7 million if they want to make the deal permanent.

Richmond said: "It is our firm intention to exercise that option and this way we have the luxury of being able to deal with that decision further down the line."

Manager Paul Jewell will not reveal his line-up until an hour before kick-off and would not say whether Rodriguez would figure in the side.

However the French B international said: "I hope to break into the side and I want to score as many goals as possible.

There is no reason why I could not also do that for the full French national side if I do well with Bradford City."

City have around 400 tickets still available for tomorrow's match which can be obtained from the ticket office.

Jewell says the four players away on international duty have returned to the club with no injuries although Gareth Whalley and John Dreyer have been suffering with chest infections.

He expects both men to be fit and available for selection.
