Hospital staff, patients and visitors can now have access to cash 24-hours a day, seven days a week, for the first time.

Following the appointment of HSBC - formerly the Midland - as the Trust's bankers, a cashpoint machine has been installed in the main corridor at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

A second cashpoint is to be placed in the Horton Wing at St Luke's Hospital as soon as planners from Bradford Council give the go-ahead for the minor building work necessary to house the machine.

The opening of the cash machine at the BRI was carried out by Trust chairman, Linda Pollard, HSBC area manager Mike Willett and business banking manager at HSBC's Market Street branch Sharon Theaker.

It was marked by a £100 donation from HSBC to kick-start the Trust's next major healthcare charity appeal - details of which will be unveiled later this year.
