A unique relationship linking medical doctors and alternative therapists has been formed at the new Grassington medical centre.

Therapists from Craven Clinic, Skipton, have been asked to provide a range of treatments.

Dr Andrew Jackson, a partner at the centre in Station Road, said: "We do get very fed up with pill pushing all the time. We have always been quite happy for people to go and see alternative practitioners, especially when we get stuck."

Therapist Christine Steverson said: "These doctors are very sympathetic to alternative treatments, they are more aware they cannot treat everything. They know there are certain people who aren't responding to medical treatment who may benefit from counselling or body treatments."

The therapists will cover three main areas including talking treatments like counselling, remedy treatments like homeopathy and hands on treatments such as shiatsu and reflexology.
