Wanted: One English teacher and family home for Premiership football's latest foreign superstar.

Bradford City put out the unusual public appeal after securing the services of striker Bruno Rodriguez from French giants Paris St Germain - and are confident their die-hard fans will be ready to help out.

Because the one-season loan deal was done somewhat on the hop, the Corsican, who does not speak a word of English, is living in a hotel room in the area. Said Bradford's chairman, Geoffrey Richmond: "Bruno's wife is joining him and the couple have an 18-month-old child. Obviously, this accommodation is far from ideal and the club is very keen that he moves into a proper family home as soon as possible."

Today the club were looking for anyone able to rent the Frenchman a three or four-bedroom house in the area. Its efforts included an appeal in tonight's match programme for the Worthington Cup tie with Reading.

Mr Richmond said: "Obviously things are slightly difficult for Bruno and his wife because they do not speak a word of English. We are hoping that somebody will volunteer to give up three or four hours a week to help teach them the language."

The call came just days after the Telegraph & Argus lent a helping hand at Bruno's first press conference with the club. As the nation's media gathered for the Bantams' official unveiling of their new talent, T&A reporter - and Bradford season ticket holder - Simon Ashberry stepped in to act as his translator for the day.

"Simon did a great job and it must have been quite a strange experience for him," said Mr Richmond. He added: "As footballer, I think Bruno will be a great asset to the club and we hope to keep him when the loan period finishes at the end of this season. Being a Corsican, Bruno is a very proud and strong-minded individual. He is a very nice person and we are glad to have him at the club."

Bradford paid Paris St Germain £500,000 for the season-long loan. Bruno, who said he has always dreamed of playing English football, came on for an impressive ten minutes at the end of Sunday's 1-1 draw with Spurs.
