Motown legend Martha Reeves last night lived up to her massive hit Forget Me Not in an emotional reunion with two of her biggest fans.

Bradford couple Phil and Kim Dick had the greatest day of their lives two years ago when they married in Detroit's Motown Museum - with Martha as a guest.

Last night Martha, who still lives in Detroit, played to a packed house at Pennington's in Manningham Lane, Bradford, after being reunited with them.

The star, whose anthem Dancing in the Street summed up the whole Motown movement, had met Kim several years before her wedding after a gig in Wakefield.

They spent the evening sipping Champagne and talking about life and love and parted good friends. "When I got the invitation from Kim to go to her wedding, I thought, this is great, this is from my girlfriend," said Martha last night.

"It was a wonderful wedding at Hitsville. There were crowds in the street and everyone was dancing." When Kim threw her bouquet into the air, it was Martha who swooped in and caught it.

The tradition of being next to wed still has to happen for Martha. "It hasn't worked yet, but I haven't given up hope," said the 56-year-old star.

Phil and Kim, both 36, from Idle, had some good news to tell Martha - Kim is three months pregnant. If it's a girl, the couple plan to call her Tamla, the name given to Motown records in this country.

"I guess I should be offended that they're not going to call her Martha," joked the singing legend.

The couple plan to revisit Detroit next year and Martha has already issued an invitation to drop by.

In 1996, Phil and Kim went to America, where he proposed to her. A year later they went back to get married.

Kim said: "We haven't seen Martha since our wedding because we've just started a business and the fares cost so much.

"Phil and I have loved her records since we were in our teens and it is marvellous that we have got to know her.

"She may be a superstar, but she's a lovely, lovely person."
