Pop star and actress Cher has inspired Jane Saboula to change her life by going under the surgeon's knife.

Jane, of Mowbray Close, in Cullingworth, had a facelift, eye bags removed and breast enlargement.

"Cher was my inspiration," she says, "Looking at her and knowing she's older than me I thought 'that's not fair.'"

Jane, 48, feels she has had a new lease of life since the surgery and it has given her greater self-esteem and confidence.

She says: "I'll go to places I wouldn't go to before. I wouldn't go to a disco for 18-year-olds but I'm more prepared to go to clubs. And I used to hide behind my hair and hands before."

It took 'a few thousand pounds,' five hours on the operating table and six weeks of recovery to achieve Jane's new look.

She had the facial surgery and breast enlargements done in the same operation just before Christmas.

She quips: "I looked like I'd had a round with Tyson when I came round. I just looked terrible and had to wear dark glasses when I went out."

Jane's breasts, which went from a B to D cup, are her biggest boast. "They were like Spaniel's ears before but they're just as they should be now," she grins.

Husband M'Barek, 30, who she met in Morocco over three years ago, has been supportive. The couple have been married for a year.

Jane, who has a grown up son from a previous marriage, taught English in Morocco.

In England she has worked in telesales and in patient day care for the ambulance service but is unemployed at present.

She now feels the young woman trapped in a slightly older body has been unleashed.

Jane adds: "I would have more done if I could afford it - a tummy tuck because I hate my stomach.

"Anybody who gets the chance to do it should go ahead."

While in Morocco Jane suffered a knife-point attack. A man forced his way into her apartment before tying her up, threatening her with a knife and attacking her. He stole cash, a stereo and left her with a broken jaw.

M'Barek, who now works at Morrisons in Keighley, was a friend and local detetective who came to her aid. "He was very helpful and kind," says Jane.
