The search is on to find the fittest man and woman in the area - and also raise money for Oakbank sports college.
A three stage fitness challenge is being held and sportsmen and women are invited to take up the challenge.
Oakbank PE head Helen Plimmer explained: "The first round will consist of standard tests on things like sit ups and press ups. Competitors survive those tests will go through to round two which will concentrate on cardio-vascular fitness using the running and rowing machines and the dreaded bleep test where athletes will be tested against an electronic timing machine
"The third and final round is a Gladiator-like head to head showdown which will take place on a special fun day in which the whole school will be involved."
Prizes for the winners, and for everyone who gets through the first, round will include membership packages to the Oakbank recreation centre gym. The final will take place in July with the winner being crowned Sporting Superstar.
To enter the challenge competitors must register within the next ten days. To register call recreation centre manager Ian Laurie on 01535-609155 or Will Smith on 07879-627996. Entry is £5 per person.
