By the Rev E Gordon Webb, the Methodist Church - Don't miss it...don't miss it... don't miss it...

Saturday July 1, 4-8pm at Keighley Cougars ground, Hard Ings Road (by kind permission of the directors) - Keighley Inter-Faith Millennium Celebration.

What better way to celebrate the millennium than by having a party with your friends?

As chair of the planning group, it has been a wonderful privilege to discover what good friends we have among those who belong to other faiths living in Keighley and District.

They are backing this event to the hilt - helping us Christians celebrate the 2000th Anniversary of Jesus' birth.

The programme begins with brief words of greeting from civic and religious leaders, including a special message of support from Tony Blair.

This will be followed by our millennium promise - to respect one another's convictions as people of faith and to work together for the good of our community, in the face of the negative and destructive effects of unbridled materialsim.

The main event will be a celebration of the rich diversity of our local culture through a colourful and lively display, drawing on music, dance, drama etc. from our various traditions.

All that's needed to make the day a huge success... you!

Hundreds and hundreds of Christians (thousands if you like - there's room) to celebrate this uniquely special occasion.

And it's free!

You can't have anything better or more worthwhile to do that day.

Let's show the world that Christians really know how to celebrate.
