ILKLEY runner Jo Prowse is at last finding a return to form after her stay in hospital with a back injury.

Despite the blistering heat on Sunday Jo held her leading position to win the Northern Veterans 10K Road Championship at Clitheroe.

This follows her win in the Otliensians 10K in 39.46 and her tussle with Sue Payne to win the Bolton 10K.

Jo said: "I am hoping to maintain this form and build on it and strengthen my back so that I can get back onto the hills as soon as possible.

"I am working towards the World Mountain Veterans Running Championship in August in Slovakia and hope to be fit by then."

"The staff on Ward 9 at Airedale Hospital were wonderful and I will be doing a sponsored run round the hospital in July to raise funds to buy a ripple mattress for the ward," said Jo.
