A new home is being sought for a charity sleigh which has brought festive cheer to thousands of Keighley people.

The Keighley Lions' Santa sleigh has been temporarily stored at various locations since losing its home - due to structural alterations - at Churchill House. Now the Lions Club is seeking a more permanent base for the festive trailer, which has toured streets every Christmas for about 18 years.

The venture has raised through donations more than £25,000 for charity since its launch.

Spokesman Mike Walton says: "The sleigh was stored in a garage under the stage at Churchill House for about five years, but due to alterations had to be removed.

"At present it is kept in a member's garage but that space is now needed for something else. It has also been stored temporarily at Keighley Bus Museum.

"We are extremely grateful to all those who have helped over the years but we are desperate to find someone who may be able to offer it a more permanent home, perhaps someone with a little garage space or a spare corner of a premises."

Anyone able to assist should contact Mr Walton on 01535 606538 or president Edward Walters on 01535 632982.
