Utley residents are holding a street party to celebrate the Queen Mother's 100th birthday.
The event has been organised by Susan Whiteoak, who organised a similar affair in 1986 for the Duke and Duchess of York's wedding. She says: "That got more and more people wanting to come so we ended up on the playing fields. This year we're trying to get some of the oldest residents in Utley involved so we have all ages taking part."
Attractions at the event, to be held at Utley Pavilion and playing fields, include competitions for five-a-side football, cricket, fancy dress, bonnie babies, pram-decorating and glamorous grannies. Refreshments, a tombola and raffle are also promised.
Several businesses have donated competition prizes. Proceeds will go to Airedale Hospital's Special Care Baby Unit.
The street party, on Saturday, August 5, runs from 2-3pm. Anyone who can contribute towards the event or donate prizes should contact Susan Whiteoak on 01535 671625.
