Matthew Elliott says speculation over his Odsal future will not distract him from his number one aim - leading the Bulls to Grand Final glory.

Aussie NRL club Wests Tigers say Elliott is on a short-list for their head coaching role after the departure of Wayne Pearce.

But Elliott, who has revealed his desire to test himself in the toughest rugby league competition in the world, says ahead of Sunday's top-of-the-table showdown with Wigan: "I wish all the speculation would go away.

"It has come at a very bad time because my only thoughts right now are for Bradford Bulls and winning the Grand Final.

"It seems my name is coming up a lot in connection with other jobs.

"But while I do have an ambition to coach back home at some stage in the future, I would also like to win the lottery.

"There is no substance to the Wests story.

"I have said all along that if ever there is something to say regarding my future then, after my family, Bulls chairman Chris Caisley and the players will be the first to know."

Meanwhile, Elliott has been explaining his decision to give his players Tuesday and Wednesday off this week ahead of the crunch battle with Wigan at the JJB Stadium.

"There is certainly no slacking off, but you do have to change the dynamics of your training at this stage in the season," he said.

"We did a lot of work over the weekend and again on Monday, and from today we have three full days' preparation, which is plenty of time to cover the ground I want to."

Elliott has centre Scott Naylor available again after resting him for the visit of the Giants last week and says he has some difficult selection problems ahead.

"Nathan McAvoy and Justin Brooker both got some game time under their belts," he said.

"And Michael Withers is now much more confident with the injury that troubled him, so there is plenty of competition around."

Wigan will be virtually at full strength with scrum half Willie Peters, utility back Wes Davies and second row forward Simon Haughton all in contention after recovering from injury.

"I've got a bit of a dilemma with two or three players coming back and I won't make up my mind about the team until tomorrow," said coach Frank Endacott.

Winger Brett Dallas, out for the last two months with a broken jaw, is the Warriors' only lingering casualty. He is due to make his comeback in a fortnight.

The Bulls' Alliance side are in action against Dewsbury at Odsal tonight (7.30) looking to consolidate their top-five standing against the bottom club.
