THORNTON are locked in a tough fight at the top just one point behind Clayton.

Harden slipped from third place despite a superb century from Andy Moulds in their match at Crossflatts. Moulds scored 105 and was partnered for much of the innings by Anthony Bairstow who scored an undefeated 59 to help Harden to 241-3.

Flatts made a brave effort to reach the double-century total with Mick Brooksbank top scoring on 46, but the had to settle for a single point as they ran out of overs with the score on 193-5.

Oxenhope crusied to a six-wicket victory over Shelf with Darren Hopkinson leading the way on 48 after Hargreaves and Jackson had taken three wickets each to restrict the Shelf innings to 136-8.

Cullingworth also enjoyed a successful day with Michael Vaughan taking five for 38 as Buttershaw Saint Pauls were dismissed for 137.

An impressive midle-order partnership between Welch and Hall saw Cullingworth to victory by six wickets.

In Division Two Ingrow saw D Hoyle give them a fighting chance with a hard-hitting 60 after coming in as number eight batsman agaist Eldwick. The home team had earlier set a target of 161-6 and as the Keighley slumped to 50-8 things looked bleak, but Hoyle's fighting performance gave them hope and last man Sullivan added 22 before being bowled just 13 runs short of victory.

Riddlesden's bowlers stuck to their task against Adwalton on Saturday with Siddique taking five for 72, Hawkes two for 42 and Greenwood three for 14 as the visitors were dismissed for 138. But the Keighley side's batters collapsed to 61 all out.

The lack of fighting spirit continued on Sunday as they were bowled out for a mere 43, leading to a nine-wicket defeat by Sandy Lane. Now they are searching for the pride and fighting spirit needed to end the season with a flourish.

Ingrow secured an easy seven wicket win on Sunday, chasing a total of just 36 from Thornbury who turned out with just eight men.

Oxenhope 2nds beat Shelf by six wickets with John Ousey taking five wickets. Shelf were dismissed for 98 and a knock of 21 from Chris Best, backed up by 28 not out by Dale Burrows secured victory.

Harden 2nds had Crossflatts back in the pavilion with just 60 runs on the scoreboard and collected a nine-wicket win.

Ingrow 2nds could only muster 10 men, but managed to beat nine-man Thornbury by ten wickets with I Herbert 44 not out and I Maiden 37 not out.
