Bulls ace Henry Paul hopes to have double cause for celebration after tomorrow's vital battle with his former club Wigan Warriors at the JJB Stadium.

Victory would be a tremendous boost to the Bulls chances of finishing as Super League's minor premiers for the second year in succession while eight points for the Kiwi stand-off would see him set a new club record for points in a season.

The club's 1973 Challenge Cup final full-back Eddie Tees currently holds the record with 364 points during the 1971-72 season.

Paul is also within sight of Tees record of 173 goals during the same season having landed 161, including one drop, so far this term.

But while he relishes setting records the only points that really matter tomorrow are two of the Super League variety which would see the Bulls leapfrog the Warriors in the table.

"Wigan will go four points clear of us if the unexpected happens and we lose, so it us a must win situation for us," said Paul.

"When we drew at the JJB earlier in the season both teams played well but I feel we can improve on that.

"We lost to them at Odsal and that still rankles with us. We know where we went wrong that evening and we have been working hard to put things right."

Bulls coach Matthew Elliott has a full squad to pick from with the exception of skipper Robbie Paul but is not giving anything away ahead of such a crucial clash.

"I have some important decisions to make this week and I will not select my team until training today. But apart from Robbie we are fit and raring to go.

"I wouldn't want to stake our season on this one game but it is obviously very significant in view of how the competition table sits at the moment. I feel we will have to face Wigan again to win the Super League trophy.

"We have had a relaxed build-up to the game but I can sense there is an edge to the players.

"They know that there is a big game coming up and perhaps the fact that they didn't perform very well the last time we played them has given us an extra focus."

The Bulls have sold over 2,500 tickets for the game but Wigan officials are keen to stress it will be possible to pay at the turnstiles on the night. Kick-off is at 6.35pm.
