Undercliffe have won promotion back to Division One at the first attempt, and now have the Division Two title in their sights.

They are strong favourites to do so, being ten points in front of second-placed Spen Vic-toria with only three matches left.

Undercliffe made sure of promotion with a six-wicket win at Saltaire, thanks to a superb spell of bowling by Australian Mark Saliacus.

Saliacus shattered Saltaire's batting by taking seven for 59 as they were bowled out in 26 overs for a mere 91.

Undercliffe lost four wickets in reaching their modest target, but Toby Drummond made sure there was no upset by top- scoring with 47 against his former club.

If Undercliffe took the team honours in Division Two, the individual plaudits once again went to Spen's Australian all-rounder Grant Lambert, who scored his seventh century of an extraordinary season in the drawn match against Salts.

Lambert, who has already broken the league's run-scoring record, reached his century in the final over of the innings when he blasted four fours and a six to reach 123 out of Spen's of 210 for two.

He received good support from Ian Wood, who scored 61 as the batsmen put on 133 for the second wicket.

However, Spen could not force victory as Salts hung on for a point at 121 for nine.

Third-placed Gomersal str-engthened their promotion prospects in their first season in the league with a six-wicket win at bottom club Morley.

David Bradbrook took five for 31 as Morley were bowled out for 111, and opener Steve Harrison top scored with 47 as Gomersal reached their target.

Esholt's promotion challenge faltered when they were beaten by one wicket in the last over of their home match against Bankfoot.

Chris Overend top scored with 57, including five sixes, at No 8 after rescuing Esholt who were in deep trouble at 64 for six.

They managed to reach 186 in 41.4 overs, but Bankfoot were indebted to their overseas all-rounder Saleem Mug-hal who scored 80 before he was seventh out at 131. Robert Ellis then guided them to victory with four balls to spare.

Ian Dewhirst produced an-other outstanding performance for Idle as he took seven for 50 to lift them into fourth place.

Dale Towler took five for 42 as Keighley restricted Idle to 127 for nine, but it proved too many for the visitors, despite a defiant 25 not out by wicketkeeper Richard Wood.

Manningham Mills hung on for a point at Lightcliffe, 63 runs adrift with their last pair at the wicket.

There was another tense finish at Bowling Old Lane, where visitors Hartshead Moor were nine runs adrift of Old Lane's 159 for seven with eight wickets down when the match ended.
