Business leaders from Bradford will join a five-day mission to drum up business for local exporters in the United Arab Emirates.

Chamber Management Services, the operating company for Bradford, Leeds and York & North Yorkshire Chambers of Commerce, is leading the trip which sets off on November 4.

The mission will visit the United Arab Emirates which is Britain's second largest export market in the Middle East beaten narrowly by Saudi Arabia.

It is supported by the British Trade International which has offered £400 grants for eligible companies wishing to increase their business in the Middle East.

Malcolm Sewell, CMS's International Services Manager, went on his first trade mission to the region 25 years ago and has seen many changes over that time.

He said: "Areas of the country that were simply deserts 20 years ago are now thriving centres of commerce and industry.

"The level of change is quite remarkable but when ones sees it first hand, it illustrates the potential markets for British companies.

"Britain's strong ties and good business reputation in the region, combined with the fact that English is the main business language, helps to build trade between the two countries.''
