Telewest, Yorkshire Cable's parent company, has launched its high-speed internet service in Bradford.
The company said the broadband service, called blueyonder, operates ten times faster than conventional versions and features an always-on connection to the net.
Chad Raube, from Telewest, said: "People can access the web in an instant, without frustrating waits.
"They can stay on as long as they wish without paying a penny in phone charges."
