THE caretaker of an Ilkley shopping centre has spoken of his disgust at it being used as a
toilet.
Peter Brady, caretaker of the Moors Shopping Centre, says a gate at the front of the centre is often used as an impromptu toilet.
Mr Brady, who also owns Oakley's Brasserie in the centre, said: "We have got an on-going problem all the time. People are going to the toilet through the gates two or three times a week. It is disgusting."
Mr Brady is frequently forced to clean the mess before shoppers arrive, and said while he does not know who is responsible, the area is often frequented by teenagers.
He said a bearded vagrant has also been
spotted at the site shouting abuse to shoppers.
Mr Brady, who is the first person to arrive at the centre each day, said on previous occasions he also found excrement and condom
wrappers.
The new owner of the shopping centre, Mr Darrell Kershaw, said that he did not wish to comment but that he would be speaking to Mr Brady about resolving the problem.
l The shopping centre is located close to the toilets in the central car park which were recently refurbished but these are closed at night.
