Eoin Jess was today discussing a three-month loan move to Bradford City.

The Scottish international has fallen out of favour at Aberdeen after accusing the club of lacking ambition.

He is keen for another crack at the Premiership after an unsuccessful spell with Coventry. And City boss Jim Jefferies sees him as the man to give the basement Bantams a much-needed lift.

Jefferies said: "I talked to him yesterday about the possibility and we hope to sort something out with Aberdeen later today.

"With the injuries we've had, we are limited in the midfield area and he can give us another option.

"He is a talented boy who needs to show what he can do and we're giving him the chance to come down here and prove himself.

"We need somebody from midfield to support the strikers and he would fit in that position."

Jess, 30, would go straight into the squad to face Liverpool on Saturday as will Stan Collymore (pictured).

Boxing Day's 4-1 battering by Sunderland was the last of his three-game ban.

Now Jefferies must decide whether to bring him straight back against the side that once splashed out £8.5 million for his services.

Jefferies said: "Stan hasn't been able to do much while he's been out because he was having his wisdom teeth sorted.

"His fitness is all right, but he hasn't had any match practice so I'll have to think over whether to play him from the start."

Consecutive three-goal drubbings by Chelsea and Sunderland have made it a miserable Christmas for the Premiership's bottom club. But the manager will not allow anyone to throw in the towel.

Jefferies said: "You can't give up in our position. I won't be and I'm sure everyone feels the same.

"I've seen things change too quickly in this game to say we can't get out of it.

"As the chairman said in the programme on Tuesday, when Bradford went to Sunderland last season they were five points behind and people said they were finished. "But they won the game and everything changed.

"A win against Liverpool could turn everything again. But the game has got to be in doubt if the weather continues as it is."
