ELDERLY members of a village community were treated to tea, party games and magic tricks
performed by a vicar.
Members of Menston Methodist Church and St John's Church got together to organise a Christmas meal and party for more than sixty elderly residents of the
village, several of which are housebound.
The party took place at the Methodist Church,.
Many villagers collected the elderly guests and drove them to the party.
Youngsters from Menston Primary School entertained the guests, accompanied by their music teacher.
A six-year-old girl recited a long poem, and other children played pieces of music on their recorders, and sang Christmas carols.
Junior Church member Amy Woods finished the performance by playing We Wish You a Merry Christmas on the piano.
But for some, the highlight of the party was entertainment provided by vicar of St John's, the Rev David Clarke, who put on a lively and amusing conjuring act.
Former opera singer Chris Grady sang three songs for the guests, who were served up a festive tea, complete with crackers, party hats and Christmas gifts. The church members organised Christmas party games.
