ROBBERS threatened a shop assistant with a gun before
stealing a small amount of cash and cigarettes.
The two raiders swooped on the Adel Wood Stores, in Wayland Croft, Adel, at 6.50pm last Friday. Both men were wearing woollen hats pulled over their faces, with eye and nose holes cut out.
One threatened the male shop assistant with a handgun, demanding money and cigarettes. No shots were fired, and
no-one was injured in the attack.
The two men ran off into nearby woods with the cash and cigarettes, and may have later got into a car on the nearby Tile Lane. Some of the cigarettes were later found in the woods.
The man with the gun was described as white, 5ft 8in tall, of medium build, wearing a black jacket, and the hat. The second man was also white, slim, 6ft tall, and also wore a black jacket and hat.
Anyone who saw the men is asked to call Weetwood Police on (0113) 2413459, or (0113) 2413460, or call the Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.
