Eleven people breathalised by police in the Spen Valley all tested negative during a Christmas drink-drive crackdown by police.

Officers from Heckmondwike road traffic department were pleased with the result and felt their message of 'zero tolerance' to drink-driving was getting across.

PC Paul Walton from the department said they breathalised 11 people between 2pm and 5.30pm on Friday, December 22 - a day when most offices and businesses broke up for the festive period - and all were negative.

He said they stopped people on A-Class roads in Cooper Bridge, Gomersal and around the town centres.
