Police have appealed for help in tracing a jumper and gold chain belonging to a young man who was found dead on a roof in Bradford.

The body of Amrez Shaukat was found on the roof of a building in St Jude's Place, Manningham, on January 22 this year.

The 22-year-old, of Allerton Road, Allerton, Bradford, was partly clothed and police are still trying to trace some of his belongings.

Mr Shaukat was seen in the early hours of January 21 by his brother in the Carlisle Road area of Manningham and again at 3am the following day at the West End Bar in Lumb Lane.

Police say he was wearing a dark coloured Henry Lloyd jumper, which had a grey and beige band across the chest with a Henry Lloyd motif, and a thick gold chain. A police spokesman said: "We are appealing for anyone who finds these personal items to get in touch."

Mr Shaukat's death is not being treated as suspicious. Detectives from Toller Lane Police are investigating how he got on the roof of the former car body shop, owned by the Polar Ford dealership.

The cause of death is believed to be hypothermia and/or drugs-related but detectives are still awaiting the results of toxicology tests.

Polar Ford still uses the building for vehicle storage. The compound is edged with a barbed-wire fence and guarded 24-hours a day by a private security firm. Police say injuries found on Mr Shaukat were consistent with him having climbed onto the roof himself.

He was found sprawled on his back with his arms raised above his head. He was dressed in a black T-shirt and black trousers, but had no shoes or socks on.
