Leon Pryce starts his comeback tonight and has immediately set his sights on a Silk Cut Challenge Cup semi-final berth against Warrington next month.

Pryce has suffered a frustrating spell on the sidelines after a major shoulder operation in the autumn but lines up for the Alliance side against Salford at Odsal tonight desperate to get back into the thick of the action as quickly as possible.

"Ideally I can put in a performance tonight and make the 17 to play at Salford for the first team tomorrow night but if not I certainly have my eyes on the Huddersfield game next weekend.

"I know it won't be easy because the side have been playing so well but I don't want to miss the chance of a semi-final if I can help it. It's a fantastic competition and I want to be involved in it trying to retain the trophy."

Pryce will feature at stand off tonight - a role where he sees his long-term future.

"I have a great regard for Henry Paul and am not saying I should replace him now by any means. But I would love to settle there down the line.

"I want to get the ball in my hands as much as I can but it's not the sort of role you can play odd games in, you need to be playing there every week and that is my ambition."

His first task though is to get his confidence back after a lengthy rehabilitation.

"I finally got medical clearance last week and, although the shoulder does ache from time to time, generally it feels pretty good.

"I can't wait to get involved again. The first team are playing with a lot of freedom and I think it will suit my style.

"The competition for places is fantastic and it will help keep everyone on their toes.

"Tevita Vaikona has made a great start but I don't think anyone who saw him in pre-season training is surprised with the way he is playing.

"He's always had incredible strength but he seems to have added a yard of pace and looks really sharp."
