A Bradford based law firm is warning company directors they could face jail for failing to keep records.
Last Cawthra Feather Solicitors cites a case where a director was jailed for three months for throwing documents away, as an example of why duties need to be taken seriously.
Head of the company's law team, Susan Clark, pictured, said: "In this case the offence was the failure to take reasonable steps to preserve the company's records, which is only one of many statutory duties imposed on officers of a company."
