A PUB landlord is offering a £1,000 reward for the return of jewellery stolen from his home.

Duncan Robb-Cummings and his wife, Jannet, returned home on Monday to find their house next to the Goat Gap Inn, Clapham, had been burgled.

The thieves stole jewellery worth £2,000 but to Mr and Mrs Robb-Cummings, the items are priceless.

The haul included a silver cigarette case belonging to Mr Rob-Cummings' father, who died when he was five. It was the only memento he had of his father.

Also missing is a ring belonging to his wife's great-grandmother and his wedding ring.

Mr Robb-Cummings said: "It is unbelievable. You have all sort of things you cherish for years in your home. Some of these things taken are worthless to thieves and will just be thrown away. My wife and I are devastated."

The burglary occurred between 2.30 and 5pm and anyone with any information should phone Skipton police on 01756 793377.
