Bulls skipper Robbie Paul resumes at scrum half at Salford but there's no place for fellow crowd-pleaser Leon Pryce despite a devastating comeback from injury.

Paul will line-up alongside brother Henry at The Willows with Paul Deacon reverting to the bench after his first start of the season in last week's 38-0 Challenge Cup win at Wakefield.

But Pryce must bide his time despite a two-try show at stand-off in the Alliance side's 48-20 win over Salford at Odsal last night.

Coach Brian Noble felt a full 80 minutes was what Pryce needed in his first appearance of the season following close season surgery on a shoulder injury.

But on last night's evidence Pryce looks a strong bet to force his way back into Super League action at Hudders-field next Sunday.

After having an early effort denied for a double movement, Pryce side-stepped four men for a superb solo try mid-way through the half and added his second in the closing stages.

Lee Radford (2), Simon Lewis, Chris Redfearn, Rob Parker and Paul Sykes - who also landed eight goals - scored the other tries.

Pryce will be watching from the stands tonight though as Noble sticks with the players who have started the campaign so well.

Noble said: "I feel it is important at the moment to get some fluency in the side and then it will be easier to bring people into a team that is playing well. Leon, Nathan McAvoy and Graham Mackay will all be available soon and then we will be able to roll the squad around a bit."

Salford were knocked out of the cup by Northern Ford Premiership leaders Leigh at the first hurdle and lost their opening Super League game at Hull 46-34 but Noble remains wary.

"The Willows on a Friday night has always been a daunting place to go in many respects," he said. "They have a habit of turning over some of the top sides.

"They have a very passionate set of supporters who are very vocal and get right behind their team.

"They have strengthened well this year. We know all about Warren Jowitt and they have got some quality and organisation all over the park and we will have to watch them carefully."

Former Australian Test star Michael Hancock, who joined Salford from Brisbane Broncos, will make his delayed Super League debut tonight.

Hancock missed Salford's pre-season friendly at Wigan after catching flu on his arrival and, after playing in the Reds' Challenge Cup defeat by Leigh, he contracted shingles.

"He's had a shocking time," said Salford coach John Harvey.

"He got a cut head against Leigh, and it became infected and ballooned up. When he finally got over that he caught shingles.

"But he's jumping out of his skin now and he can't wait to play."

A collection will be made at tonight's game for the North West Counties Junior side who are touring Australia later this year. The party includes Ryan Collins who is joining the Bulls.
