Bradford business leaders came together this week to find out how their companies can do more for local communities.
Senior managers from around 20 of the district's firms attended a Bradford Cares breakfast meeting at the Yorkshire Building Society's head office yesterday.
Part of a national Business in the Community campaign, the scheme will draw up a diary of 'action days' when companies will team up to give voluntary and school groups a helping hand.
Jo Crossley, from Bradford Cares, said: "This provides a significant opportunity for local businesses to publicly dem-onstrate a practical commitment to develop and support the local community.
"This in turn builds a strong sense of local identity and pride in Bradford."
Office managing partner at Leeds and Bradford based DLA Solicitors, Neil McLean, said: "The Cares programme has enabled us to make a real difference to helping people."
