Silsden's domination of Division One continued with a convincing 4-0 victory at Ardsley Celtic.

Because of the 'Foot-and-Mouth' disease Silsden were forced to play in Ardsley for the second time this season, but this didn't trouble a confident Silsden side.

The Cobbydalers started the stronger side and it wasn't long before their slick passing and fluent attacks broke down the Ardsley defence. Michael Rosser, totally unmarked, headed home a well taken corner from Andrew Holden. Silsden doubled their lead when Mick Ward was put through and his perfect chip left the Ardsley keeper standing.

Silsden then sat back and invited pressure from the home side. Some lack-lustre defending meant Silsden were lucky to go in 2-0 up at half-time.

The game was killed off courtesy of 2 quick goals right after the break. The first came from Jimmy Hedges who unleashed a powerful low drive from all of 20 yards. The fourth and final goal came form Martin Mclelland who coolly finished a Mick Ward cross.

Jimmy Christian and Jamie Broadhead both impressed in the midfield and Martin Fauldger was excellent in the Silsden goal. This win is perfect preparation for Silsden who face Keighley Shamrocks in the Keighley Cup Semi-

Phoenix have now made it eight wins out of eight in the Premier League after beating Crag Road United 5-1 at home. With Phoenix beating Crag only three weeks earlier manager Paul Ettenfield was confident of a result. Things didn't as planned and it was not until early on in the second half that Phoenix finally broke the deadlock; Danny Spencer, starting his first game since his lengthy ban, side footing in from close range. The loss of centre half Martin Crangle through injury caused temporary confusion in the Phoenix defence and the visitors drew level. Phoenix were soon back in front though, Roy Mason smashing the ball into the roof of the net with his left foot. Mick Gillmartin then made it three nil; a deft chip over the advancing keeper. Mark Sutcliffe, on the injured Rob Horton, scored his first ever goal from open play as he followed up a fierce Danny Spencer shot. Mick Gillmartin scored his second and Phoenix's' fifth as he coolly side footed past the helpless Crag keeper.

Phoenix will make the short journey to Steeton tomorrow as they mount their defence of the Keighley Cup.
